Added 6 People, Total South Sulawesi Residents Died Due To COVID-19 To 410 People

SULTRA - The Southeast Sulawesi COVID-19 Task Force (Sultra) recorded 6 deaths from exposure to COVID-19 as of Sunday, August 8th. The total number of people who died since the first case became 410 people

"Today, the number of dead cases has increased to six in four regions," said Spokesperson for the Southeast Sulawesi COVID-19 Task Force, La Ode Rabiul Awal in Kendari, quoted from Antara, Sunday, August 8.

Of the 17 regencies/cities throughout Southeast Sulawesi, all regions have had cases of death due to being infected with COVID-19 since the outbreak of the pandemic until now.

The distribution of cases of death due to COVID-19 in Southeast Sulawesi includes 19 people in Buton Regency, Muna 26, Konawe 54, Kolaka 27, South Konawe 30, Bombana 15, Wakatobi 25, North Kolaka 24, North Buton 15, North Konawe Dua, East Kolaka 16 , and Konawe Islands one person.

Furthermore, there were seven people in West Muna Regency, seven in Central Buton, seven in South Buton, 91 for Kendari City and 44 for Baubau City.

Meanwhile, positive cases of COVID-19 were recorded to be 17,843 people after an increase of 102 cases today, then cases recovered to 13,990 after the addition of 77 people.

Rabiul reminded the public not to be careless in implementing the 5M health protocol, namely wearing masks, maintaining distance, diligently washing hands, avoiding crowds and reducing mobility in order to suppress the increasing number of cases.

"We must not be careless to discipline health protocols when carrying out our daily activities. Including participating in vaccines so that we can suppress and break the chain of spread of COVID-19 in our area," he said.
