Papuan Task Force Asks Cenderawasih Military Command For Assistance In Handling COVID-19

JAKARTA - The Papua COVID-19 Task Force led by Assistant II of the Papua Regional Secretary Muhammad Musa'ad visited the Commander of the XVII/Cenderawasih Military Command Major General Ignatius Yogo Triyono to ask for assistance in handling the corona virus prevention.

Head of Kominfo Papua Provincial Government Jeri Agus Yudianto conveyed, in addition to gathering, this visit was to request assistance in handling the spread of the COVID-19 virus, especially the national vaccination program in the Papua Province region.

What's more, he continued, in the future there will be a XX PON national activity in 2021 in Papua which will be followed by all provinces in Indonesia.

"Therefore, it is necessary to accelerate vaccination in the context of handling COVID-19 for the community in order to successfully organize a national event in Papua Province," said Jeri Agus, Head of the Papua Communications and Information Office, as quoted by Antara, Friday, August 6.

Meanwhile, Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih Major General TNI Ignatius Yogo Triyono said, Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih would help as much as possible in handling the spread of the corona virus and vaccination programs in Papua Province.

"Whatever the government's policy is, we Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih will support and assist the handling of the COVID-19 virus as well as the national vaccination attack program," said Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih.

In addition, according to the Regional Military Commander, Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih together with the Papuan Regional Police have implemented an appeal to the public to always discipline themselves and comply with the health protocols that have been set by the Government. Regarding the implementation of the XX PON which will be held in Papua Province, according to the Military Commander, he said that he would help make the National event a success.

"Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih will support and succeed in organizing XX PON in Papua Province," explained Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih.

Present at the event were Assistant Operations for Kasdam XVII/Cenderawasih Colonel Inf Surya Wibawa Suparman, Territorial Assistant for Kasdam XVII/Cenderawasih Colonel Inf Teddy Arifianto S, Head of Health for Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih Colonel Ckm dr. I Nyoman Linggih.
