Reducing Patient Reports From Wisma Atlet Hospital, Moeldoko Calls It Thanks To PPKM Level 4

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko visited the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran COVID-19 Emergency Hospital to directly monitor the condition of handling COVID-19 patients.

Moeldoko received a report that currently the bed occupancy ratio (BOR) at Wisma Atlet has decreased to 25 percent. Whereas, previously, the BOR of Wisma Athletes on June 30 almost reached 90 percent.

Moeldoko said the absence of COVID-19 isolation patients being treated at the Wisma Atlet Hospital was due to the effective implementation of PPKM Level 4.

"Alhamdulillah, currently there has been a significant decline. This Athlete House can be an example that PPKM can reduce the BOR rate, which is one of the indicators for determining PPKM," said Moeldoko at the Kemayoran Athlete House, Central Jakarta, Friday, August 6.

Furthermore, Moeldoko said that the decline in the BOR figure also occurred on a national scale. The current national figure for COVID-19 bed occupancy is 56.81 percent.

"The BOR in Java-Bali fell to 57.4 percent and the BOR for non-Java-Bali fell to 56 percent," he said.

Previously, the Operations Coordinator of the Wisma Atlet RSDC Colonel Stefanus Dony explained to Moeldoko that the occupancy of Wisma Athletes' beds began to decline since early July.

In detail, there are currently 249 COVID-19 isolated patients without symptoms, 1,356 patients with mild symptoms, 25 patients with moderate symptoms, 27 patients with severe symptoms, 320 comorbid patients, and 25 patients without symptoms but have comorbidities.

Considering the declining number of patients, Dony said that his party could vacate one tower for efficiency. So, currently there are 3 towers in use.

"To make human resources more efficient, so that tower 4 that was previously filled, we will vacate it to replace the existing towers, namely towers 5, 6, and 7," said Dony.
