There Are Findings Of Budget Waste In DKI Financial Audit, Deputy Governor: We'll Clarify Later

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria emphasized that his party would clarify the findings of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) regarding DKI's financial statements for the 2020 fiscal year.

It is known, BPK issued a report on the results of the financial audit of DKI for the 2020 fiscal year on March 28, 2021. In the document, BPK found a number of inconsistencies in the use of the budget. Some of them are a waste of purchasing rapid test kits and N95 respirator masks.

"Yes, it's the BPK's job to carry out the inspection. Later on our side, from the relevant agencies, will explain the process," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Thursday, August 5.

Despite the findings, Riza emphasized that the DKI Provincial Government received the Unqualified Predicate (WTP) four times in a row from the BPK. Thus, he considers DKI's financial statements are still accountable.

"DKI Jakarta getting WTP is something that is normal, something that must be obtained because it is part of independent, transparent and accountable financial management," he said.

It is known, BPK found that there was a waste of the DKI Provincial Government's budget for the purchase of COVID-19 rapid tests for handling the pandemic worth Rp. 1.19 billion. This budget is taken from the 2020 DKI Regional Budget Unexpected Expenditure Post (BTT).

According to the BPK report, the DKI Provincial Government has purchased COVID-19 rapid tests from two companies. The purchase of the test kits has the same brand at the same time, however it turns out that the price for the rapid test between the two providers purchased by the DKI Provincial Government is different.

Then, BPK also found a waste of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's budget for the procurement of the purchase of N95 Respirator masks of up to Rp. 5.8 billion from the 2020 DKI APBD BTT post.

In the BPK report, the DKI Provincial Government purchased masks of the same type to two different companies, at different prices.
