Vaccination In Karawang Causes Crowds, The Committee: It Happens Before The Gates Open

JAKARTA - The West Java Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Vaccination Program Committee admitted that in the last few days there had been a crowd at the vaccination activity at Singaperbangsa Stadium, Karawang Regency.

"It (the crowd) happened when the stadium gates had not been opened", said the West Java BPBD Vaccination Program Committee Fauzan Kemal Akbar in Karawang, as reported by Antara, Thursday, August 5.

According to him, after the gate was opened, everything was under control and went well, because the participants followed the instructions from the executor and maintained the COVID-19 health protocol.

He admitted that he had involved the joint the National Armed Force and the National Police (TNI-Polri) security team and the local committee, including involving volunteers to break up the crowd.

"We have cooperated with the security forces who are tasked with breaking up the crowd. So even though there was a crowd, it can be dispersed", he said.

At that time, online registration of vaccines, said Fauzan Kemal Akbar, was still very minimal, so there was an option for outdoor registration (offline).

Meanwhile, the Karawang Vaccination Center targets 56.000 people to be vaccinated in a mass vaccination program held at the Singaperbangsa Stadium in Karawang.

This vaccination program will be held from July 24 to August 20, 2021, for the first dose. Then the second dose will be held from August 21 to September 17, 2021.
