JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the signing of the Head of Agreement (HOA) between Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) and PT PGN was not just a collaboration.

According to Anies, cooperation in the context of providing natural gas energy and other utilities in the DKI Jakarta area is the starting point for building a blueprint on how energy can be distributed in Jakarta over a long period of time.

Furthermore, Anies said, we must start with a future roadmap for Jakarta, because the need for gas cannot be separated from other energies such as water and electricity as an integral roadmap.

“We also want Jakarta to have a broad network in energy utilization. For Jakpro and PGN to complete this collaboration, later we will also need concrete derivatives that the people of Jakarta will immediately feel," said Anies in Jakarta, Thursday, August 5.

Meanwhile, PGN President Director M. Haryo Yunianto stated that the synergy between PGN and Jakpro is to make Jakarta an environmentally friendly province and provide easy access to energy that is more modern, safe, practical, and sustainable.

PGN and Jakpro will cooperate in providing natural gas energy for residential and commercial areas in DKI Jakarta and its surroundings. The total potential for gas distribution for residential and commercial is 80,000 connections that will get natural gas energy either through the development of gas pipelines or using non-pipeline modes, namely CNG.

PGN and Jakpro will optimize the construction of natural gas pipelines in conjunction with the ongoing integrated utility network facility project and pavement revitalization in DKI Jakarta.

"Jakpro and PGN will cooperate in the development of joint utilities for projects that are being carried out by Jakpro in DKI Jakarta and its surroundings. This collaboration is aimed at achieving time and cost efficiency, including a form of stakeholder synergy in accordance with the spirit of Jakarta as a City of Collaboration,” said Jakpro President Director Dwi Wahyu Daryoto. For information, currently only around 15,086 household connections in DKI Jakarta have access to natural gas infrastructure. This amount only accommodates about 7% when compared to the total number of residential buildings in DKI. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that more households will have access to natural gas from PGN.

Furthermore, PGN and Jakrpo will expand cooperation in the use of joint SPBG infrastructure, in addition to the transportation sector, it is also used to supply natural gas for residential and commercial areas in DKI Jakarta and its surroundings. The target is that there are 6 (six) SPBGs owned by Jakpro which are managed by its subsidiary, namely Jakarta Utility Propertindo (JUP) which will be jointly utilized.

“This joint use of the SPBG by PGN and Jakpro is an optimization of the mother station in the DKI Jakarta area to supply natural gas with non-pipeline modes. In addition to the transportation sector, it will also meet the needs of natural gas in the household, commercial, and industrial sectors in DKI Jakarta and its surroundings,” explained Haryo.
