JAKARTA - The government officially opened the retail government bond offering series ORI017 through the launch of the first Retail Government Bond (SBN) which was conducted virtually via Facebook Live. This offer will close on July 9 with maturity date on July 15, 2023.
Director General of Financing and Risk Management of the Ministry of Finance Luky Alfirman said that the difficult conditions, starting from the health crisis, to impacting the social and economic life of the community, require collective movement. Not only from the government, but also the private sector and the public to support each other in facing the pressure.
"ORI017 is present in the midst of current uncertainty to become a major investment alternative for the public," he said, in a written statement received by VOI, Monday, June 15.
Luky assessed that the launch of ORI017 is very appropriate in the current conditions, because people need investments that are safe, easy, affordable and can be disbursed before maturity. In addition, ORI017 is a state budget financing instrument.
"This means that the results from the issuance of the ORI will be used to finance the state budget, including for prevention and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Buying ORI017 signifies direct participation of the community in efforts to restore development and the Indonesian economy," he said.
To note, retail investors can buy ORI017 with a minimum value of IDR 1 million, while a maximum of IDR 3 billion. The coupon offered for ORI017 is 6.4 percent. This means that investors who buy or invest through ORI017 will get a return of 6.4 percent per year.
The ORI017 instrument has a holding period for two coupon payment periods. This means that ORI017 can only be transferred on September 15, 2020. Later, investors will get coupon payment funds from the government on the 15th of each month.
The first coupon payment will be made on 15 August 2020. The sales proceeds will be determined on 13 July 2020 and settlement will be made on 15 July 2020.
People who are interested in investing in ORI017 can now register by contacting 25 distribution partners who have been assigned to serve purchase orders directly through an electronic or online system.
