JAKARTA - The special supervision and inspection team (Wasriksus) at the National Police Headquarters scheduled an investigation by the South Sumatra Regional Police Chief Inspector General Eko Indra Heri regarding the Rp2 trillion grant from the late Akidi Tio (a resident from Langsa, East Aceh, Aceh Province) whose whereabouts are not yet clear.

Based on information reported by Antara, the Wasriksus agenda was led by Inspector General Agung Wicaksono, Irwil V Brigadier General Hotman Simatupang, Commissioner Agus Syaiful and Commissioner Heri Purwoko.

The team departed from Jakarta at 13.45 WIB using airplane transportation and is scheduled to arrive at 15.00 WIB at the South Sumatra Regional Police Headquarters, Palembang, Thursday, August 5 for an investigative audit agenda.

The South Sumatra Regional Police Chief Inspector General Eko Indra Heri will be accompanied by the Director of Intelligence and Security, Senior Commissioner Ratno Kuncoro.

Then the Director of General Criminal Investigation, Senior Commissioner Hisar Siallagan, Head of Propam Division, Senior Commissioner Dedi Sofiandi and Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner Supriyadi. Previously, the South Sumatra Police Chief, Inspector General Eko Indra Heri, apologized directly to the entire community regarding the Rp2 trillion grant from the deceased. Akidi Tio (Resident from Langsa, East Aceh, Aceh Province) whose whereabouts are not yet clear.

The apology was conveyed by the Kapolda accompanied by the Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner Supriyadi at the promoter building of the South Sumatra Regional Police Headquarters, Palembang, Thursday, August 5.

"I apologize to all Indonesian people, especially the National Police Chief, the leadership at the National Police Headquarters, members of the National Police, the South Sumatran community, religious and traditional leaders including the South Sumatra Forkompinda, the Governor, the Regional Military Commander and the Danrem," he said.

He admits that the fault lies with him personally for not being careful in ensuring the projected donation for the COVID-19 response to South Sumatra which was mandated to him until it finally caused a commotion.

"The commotion that occurred can be said as my weakness as an individual. I as a human being ask for forgiveness. This happened due to my carelessness," he said.

The commotion about the grant funds began when he was contacted by the Head of the South Sumatra Provincial Health Office, Lesty Nurainy, and the family doctor of the late Akidi Tio, Hardi Darmawan at his official residence, Friday, July 23, to discuss the donation.

"At that time, I as the regional police chief was only entrusted with distributing this assistance. The money was asked to be monitored for transparency," he said.

However, because they put their trust in the humanitarian initiative, they did not go deep into the certainty, because they were convinced that the money was only processed for disbursement.

Until now, until now, the existence of the money is still unclear and has led to complications in the eyes of the public.

He explained that he did not know the late Akidi Tio's daughter, Heryanti, but only knew his father and eldest son, Johan.

"I only knew Akidi Tio when I was in Palembang and Johan when I was on duty in East Aceh, while Heryanti I didn't know him at all," he said.
