PSSI Calls Liga 1 Revolving August 20, Police: No Permission Yet

JAKARTA - The National Police have stated that they have not issued a crowd permit regarding the League 1 competition. Because, until now, they are still waiting for a recommendation from the COVID-19 Task Force.

"Not yet (about the permit), the National Police is basically waiting for confirmation from the COVID-19 Task Force. There must be a recommendation for implementation there," said Asops Chief of Police Inspector General Imam Sugianto when confirmed, Wednesday, August 4.

If later the Task Force makes recommendations, continued Imam, the Police will of course issue a crowd permit. However, otherwise, the permit will not be issued.

"Of course, with the local area. What will the COVID-19 Task Force recommend later. If that's okay, we have no reason not to help issue (crowd permits)," said Imam.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian football competition for the 2021-2022 season will be held on 20 August. The kick-off decision was taken after PSSI held consultations with Menpora Zainudin Amali and Police Headquarters.

Series 1 will start in the green zone. Likewise, the next series will be held in the green zone.

For this reason, in the near future PT LIB will hold a virtual meeting with all representatives of League 1 clubs.

"PSSI has considered many things regarding when the 2021-2022 Liga 1 should roll. We are still consistent on August 20, Liga 1 will roll," said Acting Secretary General of PSSI, Yunus Nusidilasnir from PSSI's official website, Sealsa, August 3.

"For this reason, in the near future we will hold a virtual meeting with all representatives of League 1 clubs. Of course the competition will temporarily be without spectators. We will see future developments whether it can be with spectators with a certain capacity or not," he continued.
