Walkot Denpasar Jaya Negara Instructs Delay Payment Of School Uniforms

DENPASAR - The Denpasar City Government, Bali through the Department of Education, Youth and Sports (Disdikpora) has instructed public and private schools in the new academic year 2021 to postpone collecting payment for uniforms in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Mayor of Denpasar, IGN Jaya Negara accompanied by Plt Disdikpora IGN Eddy Mulya during a virtual meeting with school principals in Denpasar, said that his party had instructed school principals throughout the city of Denpasar to delay collecting the payment for school clothes.

"In response to this situation and considering the current economic condition of the community, we hope that schools in Denpasar City will delay collecting payment for uniforms from students' parents," said the Mayor of Jaya Negara, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, August 4.

He said the postponement was implemented for schools under the auspices of the Denpasar City Government, namely PAUD/TK, SD, and SMP both public and private.

This is because the learning process still uses online methods (online or online), so the use of uniforms is still not required.

"This is only postponed due to the situation during this pandemic. If the policy is to allow face-to-face learning, of course the purchase of uniforms will be carried out, of course, face-to-face learning will be preceded by preparations for implementing health protocols or health protocols and optimal vaccinations," he said.

In addition to asking for a postponement of the payment for clothes, the Mayor of Jaya Negara said that his party also invited all levels of schools in Denpasar City to work together in handling the pandemic.

This is mainly in supporting the socialization of the implementation of health protocols, accelerating vaccinations for students and supporting MSMEs in their respective school areas.

"We invite the ranks of schools in Denpasar City to work together in helping others, this is mainly in supporting the socialization of the implementation of health protocols, as well as helping MSMEs in the school area," he said.
