Motorcycle Gang Brawl In Bekasi And East Jakarta Take Advantage Of Social Media

JAKARTA - The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Direskrimum) of the Metro Jaya Police has detailed the motorcycle gang members involved in the brawls in Jatiasih, Bekasi, West Java and the Duren Sawit area, East Jakarta.

They come from a number of different motorcycle gang groups, even the average members are still underage.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said the perpetrators from the motorcycle gang 'Enjoy Headquarters' were involved in a brawl in Bekasi.

"They have several motorcycle gangs and are challenging the 'roomskal gang.' Meanwhile, the gang 'General Pekayon 505', the opposite is the motorcycle gang, 'Trablemaker,'" Yusri told reporters, Monday, August 2 yesterday.

In addition, the police from the Direskrimum Polda Metro Jaya also arrested 4 perpetrators of a brawl between other motorcycle gangs that occurred in the Duren Sawit area, East Jakarta.

"Three of the perpetrators are still teenagers growing up. They have the initials HT, TM, and STC. While one other perpetrator is still a minor," he explained.

Furthermore, Yusri added, the brawlers have the same mode in every brawl. They first made an appointment through social media accounts after previously 'buying and selling' ridicule.

"The method is the same, mocking each other on social media. Then they gather and challenge other motorcycle gangs. They make an appointment somewhere and do a brawl," he said.

For their actions, the adult perpetrators were charged with Article 170 and Article 338 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 12 years in prison.
