MEULABOH - West Aceh Regent Haji Ramli MS asked the local Health Office to conduct an investigation and laboratory tests regarding the incident that a female student was suspected of being paralyzed after receiving the first injection of Sinovac vaccine by a doctor.
"I want the case of a female student who is suspected of being paralyzed after being vaccinated to be completed, so as not to cause unrest in the community," said Regent Ramli MS in Meulaboh, quoted by Antara, Monday, August 2.
Amelia Wulandari, a final student at the Faculty of Law, Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh, since Sunday, August 1, had to be treated at the Cut Nyak Dhien Meulaboh Hospital because she was paralyzed after receiving a vaccine injection by a doctor.
Initially the victim was treated at the Montella Meulaboh Private Hospital, but because his condition worsened then he was referred to the Cut Nyak Dhien Meulaboh Hospital.
Responding to this case, Ramli MS stated that the case experienced by Amelia Wulandari must be resolved, so that he hopes that this case will not interfere with the vaccination process currently being carried out by the government.
"The Department of Health must be responsible for this incident, if it goes wrong, I will remove the head of the service from his position," said Ramli MS.
He also urged the management of the Cut Nyak Dhien Meulaboh Hospital to also explain to the public, what was actually experienced by the patient and he hoped that the problem should be disclosed to the public with a complete explanation.
"This issue should not be taken lightly. In the future, if there are people who do not want to be vaccinated, they should not be forced, nor should anyone be harmed," said Ramli MS.
