Kediri Health Office Asks Residents To Be Patient, First Dose Of COVID Vaccine Stock Is Empty

JATIM - The stock of COVID-19 vaccine for the first dose in Kediri City is still empty. Currently the vaccine is only available for the second dose.

Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division of the Kediri City Health Office, Alfan Sugiyanto, said that the stock of the first dose of vaccine was almost empty in all parts of Indonesia.

"So I hope the public can be patient to wait. If the vaccine arrives as soon as possible, we will vaccinate it so that group immunity is immediately formed in Kediri City," explained Alfan in Kediri, quoted from Antara, Friday, July 30.

The second stage of vaccination continues. The distribution process was carried out in nine health centers and hospitals in the city of Kediri.

"Residents who will receive the second dose of vaccination will receive an invitation from the puskesmas or hospital where they received the first dose of vaccination," he said.

Alfan added that the vaccination schedule received by residents may be different.

"The schedule that residents receive depends on the type of vaccine received at the first dose. Generally, it is about one month for the Sinovac vaccine and three months for the Astrazeneca vaccine," he said.

Alfan also revealed that the achievement of vaccination in Kediri City was quite good.

"Based on data from the COVID-19 information system, the Committee for COVID-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery (KPCPEN), there were 137,440 first-dose vaccinations and 54,804 second doses that have been given to several targets," he said.

Of the total first and second doses of vaccination that have been given, he added, there are several categories of vaccination targets, namely health workers, the elderly, public servants, vulnerable communities and the general public and adolescents.

"From the specified target, most of them have received the first dose of vaccination, while for the second dose, there are still some who are waiting for the second dose of injection," he explained.

According to the data listed, the details of the number are for the target health workers as many as 5,784 people who have received the first dose of vaccination and 5,439 people who received the second dose of vaccination.

The target elderly were 13,848 people who had received the first dose and 8,506 who received the second dose. The target of public servants is 71,615 people who have received the first dose and 26,295 who have received the second dose.

The target population is vulnerable and the general public there are 45,574 people who received the first dose and 14,564 people who received the second dose, while for the target of new adolescents as many as 619 people who received the first dose of vaccination.

"We have just carried out vaccinations targeting the age of 12 years and over or teenagers a few days ago. We have a target of 28,791 teenagers who will get vaccinated," he said.

In Kediri City, as of Thursday (29/7) there were 2,658 people who were confirmed positive for COVID-19. There are 636 people who are still being treated, 1,792 people have recovered, and 230 people have died.
