Parents Suspected Of Malpractice Victims, Hermina Hospital Semarang Sued To Court

SEMARANG - Hermina Hospital, located on Jalan Pandanaran, Semarang City, Central Java, was again sued by the family of a patient suspected of being a victim of malpractice to the Semarang District Court.

Semarang District Court Spokesman Eko Budi Supriyanto in Semarang confirmed the second lawsuit. "The material of the lawsuit is the same but the parties are different," said Eko as quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 29.

The first lawsuit, which was registered with case number 104/Pdt.G/2021/PN SMG, had gone through a mediation process until the main trial of the case before the file was finally withdrawn.

Meanwhile, the second lawsuit was re-registered with case number 345/Pdt.G/2021/PN SMG with the same content of the lawsuit. Even though the material for the lawsuit is the same, said Eko, the legal procedure for the trial will still start from the beginning.

"The procedural law is still the court will seek peace," he said.

In a lawsuit alleged to have violated the law in the form of malpractice, the parents of one of the patients suspected of being victims of malpractice at the Hermina Pandanaran Hospital Semarang, Rochani, sued the hospital management.

From the Semarang District Court Case Investigation Information System data, the compensation requested consisted of material losses of Rp. 8.8 billion and immaterial losses of Rp. 17 billion.

In addition to Hermina Hospital, the plaintiff also included the director and a number of doctors as defendants.
