Joko Tjandra And Pinangki Sirna Malasari 'Kompak' Get Punishment Discount

JAKARTA - Joko Soegiarto Tjandra alias Joko Tjandra received a 'discount' sentence for a year. Because, the DKI Jakarta High Court (PT) decided that in the case of bribery in the management of the Supreme Court's fatwa (MA) and the abolition of the red notice, Joko Tjandra was sentenced to a criminal sanction of 3 years and 6 months.

"Therefore, the defendant is sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison," said the PT Jakarta decision on the Supreme Court's website quoted by VOI, Wednesday, July 28.

Originally, at the first instance, the panel of judges at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) sentenced Joko Tjandra to a prison sentence of 4 years and 6 months.

Still in the PT's decision, Joko Tjandra was also given a criminal fine. The amount did not change with the verdict in the first level decision, namely Rp. 100 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.

The decision to reduce the sentence for Joko Tjandra is contained in the decision of PT JAKARTA Number 14/PID.TPK/2021/PT DKI.

"Change the decision of the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court on April 5, 2021 Number 50/Pid.Sus-TPK/2020/PN.Jkt.Pst just regarding the mention or qualification of the crime that the defendant has committed and the length of imprisonment imposed on the defendant. defendant," he wrote.

Not only Joko Tjandra, long before, Pinangki Sirna Malasari also received a 'discount' for his sentence. So, they seem to be compact with the acceptance of the cut in the sentence.

Moreover, the case that ensnared them was the same, namely, bribery in the administration of the Supreme Court's fatwa.

For Pinangki, PT DKI cut his sentence to six years. So the remaining four years of his sentence.

"The defendant was sentenced to imprisonment for four years and a fine of Rp. 600 million, provided that if the fine was not paid, it was replaced with imprisonment for six months," stated the Supreme Court's decision page, Monday, June 14.

Originally, at the first instance, Pinangki was sentenced to 10 years in prison. He was found validly and convincingly guilty.

Pinangki's sentence was cut for various reasons. One of them has a child.

"That the defendant pleaded guilty and said he regretted his actions and has accepted his resignation from his profession as a prosecutor, therefore he can still be expected to behave as a good citizen. That the defendant is a mother of a child who is still a toddler (aged four years) deserves to be given opportunity to nurture and give love to his child in his growing period," said the judge.
