DPD RI Chairman La Nyalla Mattalitti: The Use Of Nusantara Vaccines Must Be Accelerated

KEDIRI – As a form of support for domestic products, as well as accelerating the vaccination program to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chairperson of the DPD RI, La Nyalla Mattalitti, reiterated that the Nusantara Vaccine initiated by the former Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto is safe to use.

This is believed by La Nyalla, because he has received the Nusantara Vaccine since last May. Therefore, La Nyalla is optimistic that this vaccine can help overcome the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.

“As a product of the nation's children, we must appreciate and support Nusantara Vaccines. I was injected with the Nusantara Vaccine by Doctor Terawan himself last May. This vaccine adds to the types of vaccines that already exist so that they can accelerate the vaccination program to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic," explained La Nyalla, Wednesday, July 28.

The use of the Nusantara Vaccine has the support of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) if its use is gradual and according to procedures.

“President Jokowi once said that the vaccines being developed in the country are the Red and White Vaccine and the Nusantara Vaccine. He supports as long as it is carried out according to the right steps and procedures," explained La Nyalla.

The former chairman of the East Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry assessed that in its development the Nusantara Vaccine has followed scientific principles, scientific principles and clinical trials according to procedures that apply in an open, transparent manner and involve many experts.

“Since being vaccinated, I feel healthy and safe even though I am an elderly person. Thank God there are no problems or side effects," he said.

The man who was born on May 10, 1959 said that the Nusantara Vaccine is safe for the elderly (elderly) and people who have comorbidities because the Nusantara vaccine uses a personalized approach. Namely using blood from vaccine recipients which is then 'introduced' to protein S (Spike). This means, according to La Nyalla Mattalitti, for people with certain conditions who cannot get other types of vaccines, the Nusantara Vaccine can be an alternative.

“This personal approach is the advantage of Vaccine Nusantara compared to other vaccines. That's what makes this vaccine safe for use by people with comorbid diseases," he explained.

La Nyalla encouraged the Nusantara Vaccine to be immediately produced in large quantities to meet domestic needs and accelerate the national vaccination program.

"I think the production (of the Nusantara vaccine) can be accelerated to meet domestic needs. This step is to accelerate the acceleration of the vaccination program that the government wants to achieve,” concluded the Chairman of the DPD RI, La Nyalla Mattalitti.
