JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigated four West Java DPRD members in the alleged bribery case in project management within the Indramayu district government in 2019.

During the examination, which was held on Tuesday, July 27, investigators investigated a number of things, including the flow of bribes that did not only go to two former West Java DPRD members, Ade Barkah Surahman and Siti Aisyah Tuti Handayani.

"The witnesses were confirmed, among others, by the alleged flow of money which was not only received and enjoyed by the ABS suspect and the SAT suspect but also by other parties related to the case," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters, Wednesday, July 28.

The four members of the regional council examined as witnesses for the suspect Ade Barkah Surahman are Cucu Sigiyati, Phinera Wijaya, Almaida Rosa, and Yod Mintaraga. Previously, the KPK had named Ade Barkah and Siti Aisyah as suspects on April 15, 2021. Ade Barkah was suspected of accepting bribes Rp750 million, while Siti Aisyah allegedly received Rp1.050 billion.

This case began with the arrest of the KPK. On October 15, 2019, the KPK held a hand arrest activity in Indramayu. As a result, the KPK named four people as suspects, namely the 2014-2019 Indramayu Regent Supendi, Indramayu Regency PUPR Service Head Omarsyah, Indramayu Regency PUPR Office Head Wempy Triyono, and Carsa ES from the private sector.

Currently, the four people have been sentenced by the Corruption Court of Justice and have permanent legal force.

The case was then further developed and in August 2020, the KPK named another suspect, namely West Java DPRD Member Abdul Rozaq Muslim. Currently, the trial process against Abdul is still ongoing at the Bandung Corruption Court.
