JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Metro Police Team arrested a man suspected of murdering an elderly woman in Jagakarsa.
South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Azis Andriansyah said investigators were conducting further investigations to determine the motive for the murder.
"We suspect that someone close to him is suspected of being the perpetrator. But once again, we must need a more in-depth examination to find out the motive and other evidence," said Azis, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, July 27.
However, Azis has not provided the initials or identities of the victims and alleged perpetrators who were brought by the investigators. The perpetrator is still being investigated intensively.
Kombes Azis said the murder incident was revealed after reports from the public found the body of a 63-year-old woman.
According to the report, police personnel from the Jagakarsa Police and the South Jakarta Metro Police immediately went to the location where the body was found. Officers are currently conducting an autopsy on the woman's body.
"From the findings at the crime scene there were bloodstains, then there were wounds on the victim, then there were objects suspected of being used to carry out the violence," Azis added.
