KPK Explores Alleged Communication Of Lili Pintauli With The Mayor Of Tanjungbalai

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will investigate the statement of its former investigator, Stepanus Robin Pattuju, in a trial with the defendant, the Mayor of Tanjungbalai, North Sumatra, who is inactive M Syahrial.

The former investigator from the police said that there was communication between the Deputy Chair of the KPK, Lili Pintauli Siregar and M Syahrial regarding the case of buying and selling positions at the Tanjungbalai City Government which was being handled.

"All witness statements and other trial facts will be confirmed with witnesses who will be presented and other evidence on the agenda for the next trial," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters, Tuesday, July 27.

He said the information would soon be confirmed with Syahrial. "Next, the prosecutor will conclude all of these facts at the end of the trial in the juridical analysis of the indictment," he said.

Ali also said that the KPK Supervisory Board was also carrying out investigations in accordance with their authority regarding Lili's alleged ethical violations. After that, Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean et al will conclude whether there is an element of violation.

"The KPK Council will publicly announce the results of its examination," said Ali.

Previously, Stepanus Robin Pattuju said that the defendant M Syahrial had been called by Lili Pintauli regarding the case being investigated by the KPK. This was revealed at the trial held at the Medan Corruption Court (Tipikor) on Monday, July 26.

"Mr. Syahrial asked Fahri Aceh for help on the advice of Mrs. Lili Pintauli Siregar, as far as I know she is the Deputy Chair of the KPK," said Robin as a witness for the defendant Syahrial.

Robin said that Syahrial had told him that he wanted to ask for help related to the legal problem of buying and selling positions which was being investigated at the KPK. According to Robin, Syahrial also asked for Lili's help.
