Updates On COVID-19 In Central Sulawesi, Most Are From Palu City

JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Data and Information Center (Pusdatina) of Central Sulawesi (Sulteng) Province recorded the addition of 415 new COVID-19 cases that infected residents on Monday, July 26 in the province.

"Today 415 people have tested positive for COVID-19 so that cumulatively 19,517 people have been exposed to COVID-19 in Central Sulawesi," said spokesman for the Central Sulawesi Province COVID-19 Pusdatina Moh. Haris Kariming in Palu City, reported by Antara.

He explained that the largest number of cases were in Palu City with 75 new cases, followed by Sigi with 75 new cases of COVID-19, 57 cases in North Morowali (Morut), 55 cases in Banggai, 47 cases in Tojo Una-Una (Touna), 33 cases. in the Banggai Islands (Bangkep).

Then, he continued, there were 31 cases in Poso, 17 cases in Morowali, 14 cases in Banggai Laut, nine cases in Buol and one case in Parigi Moutong (Parimo).

"Meanwhile, there are 50 cases of recovered COVID-19 or 50 COVID-19 patients declared cured today. Cumulatively, from 19,517 people who were exposed to COVID-19, 14,539 people were declared cured," he said.

As many as 50 people were in a number of areas, the most in Palu, namely 33 people. Then eight people in Banggai Laut (Balut), five people in Touna, two people in Morowali, one person in Banggai and Bangkep.

"Furthermore, 11 COVID-19 patients were declared dead today, four each in Palu, two in Morut and Banggai, one in Bangkep, Donggala and Morowali," he said.

So that cumulatively until today, 541 COVID-19 patients have died. Next, said Haris, there are currently 4,437 active COVID-19 patients and are currently undergoing independent isolation or at health service centers belonging to the local government. The 1,241 swab or swab samples are currently still in the examination process.

He appealed to the public to be obedient and disciplined to strictly implement health protocols to prevent the transmission and spread of COVID-19, namely wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands and staying away from crowds so as not to be exposed.

"This step is very important to break the chain of spread and transmission of COVID-19 in Central Sulawesi," he said.
