The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) Council Let Go Of TWK Maladministration Findings

JAKARTA - A former Spokesperson for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Febri Diansyah, questioned the attitude of the KPK Supervisory Board which had let go of the findings of maladministration in the National Insight Test (TWK) Assessment process.

This question was submitted through his Twitter account @febridiansyah. He initially commented on a news report that said the Chairman of the KPK Supervisory Board, Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean, did not want to interfere with the findings of the Indonesian Ombudsman.

"The Ombudsman found irregularities in almost the entire KPK TWK process. KPK Council: We Don't Want to Get involved", Febri tweeted as quoted on Sunday, July 25.

The anti-corruption activist reminded the supervisory board that those who were found to have committed maladministration violations were the Chairperson and Secretary-General of the KPK.

Thus, he questioned the attitude taken by Tumpak Hatorangan et al regarding these findings.

"Sir, one of the so-called violators is the leadership and secretary-general of the Corruption Eradication Commission, you know. You have forgotten that the task of the Corruption Eradication Committee is to supervise KPK leaders and employees", he said.

Previously reported, the KPK Supervisory Board admitted that it did not want to interfere with the findings of maladministration in the National Insight Test Assessment (TWK) process that had been submitted by the Indonesian Ombudsman. They think this is none of their business.

"We don't interfere in this matter and we don't know if the leadership will follow up. We don't know", said Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean, chairman of the KPK Supervisory Board, in a press conference broadcast online, Friday, July 23.

The findings of the Indonesian Ombudsman, he continued, are the full affairs of the KPK leadership. So, they let go and invited Firli Bahuri et al to follow up.

For information, as many as 75 KPK employees, including Novel Baswedan, who was declared not to have passed the TWK as a condition for changing their employee status to State Civil Apparatus, reported their fate to several institutions such as National Human Rights Commission and the Indonesian Ombudsman. This report was made because they suspected that there was a violation that occurred in the test.

After examining several parties, including the Deputy Chairman of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, the Indonesian Ombudsman then announced his findings on Wednesday, July 21 yesterday. They said there was maladministration from the planning process to the appointment of employees as Civil Servants.

One of the serious maladministration announced by the Ombudsman is related to changing the date or backdate of the memorandum of understanding for the procurement of goods and services through self-management and self-management contracts in the implementation of the TWK of KPK employees. This memorandum of understanding was signed by the KPK and the State Civil Service Agency (BKN).
