JAKARTA - The police have arrested six teenagers for allegedly wanting to watch a demonstration against the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM), Saturday, July 24 yesterday.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus said the six teenagers were arrested in the National Monument (Monas) area of Central Jakarta.

"We are patrolling together, we see people in the crowd and we ask questions, we can't answer them, we bring them first. We only educate, then we send them home," Yusri said when confirmed, Sunday, July 25.

The six teenagers were initially taken by members of the Central Jakarta Metro Police to be recorded and given education about PPKM policies. Well, at the time of this data collection it was known that they had not been vaccinated.

No long wait. The police immediately gave a 'special gift' to these 6 teenagers by injecting the COVID vaccine. Of course, before being vaccinated, they first did a COVID-19 swab test.

"We checked their swabs, they were negative, and we vaccinated them because they claimed they had not been vaccinated. They have been sent home now," said Yusri.

It is known on social media that posters circulated containing an invitation to a long march from Glodok-State Palace to protest against PPKM on Saturday.

Previously, the Polda Metro Jaya appealed to the public not to take to the streets and hold demonstrations to express their aspirations and opinions regarding PPKM.

Polda Metro understands that the public really expects the relaxation of the PPKM policy, but if the community continues to violate health protocols, such as creating crowds, which will potentially trigger a spike in the positive number of COVID-19, then it is difficult for the government to relax the PPKM.

"How can we relax, if there are crowd activities like this again. It's a pity that hospitals, cemeteries, are full," said Yusri.
