JAKARTA - The central government has distributed cash social assistance (BST) during the Emergency PPKM period through PT Pos Indonesia. In the distribution, PT Pos assigns payers to each kelurahan.

The village head office is used as a drop point for withdrawing money. From the kelurahan, the pay clerks take money from the kelurahan to be handed over directly to the residents' homes.

Each payer has the task of delivering BST to 10 RTs with an average of about 150 beneficiary families (KPM).

A Sabar resident became one of the targets for receiving BST from the central government. Patience is a blind person who lives alone. In receiving BST, Sabar was assisted by his younger brother, Harmudin.

"The assistance from the President is very helpful. I will make the best use of it for my brother's allowance," said Harmudin on the Presidential Secretariat's Youtube show, Saturday, July 24.

Harmudin admitted that his brother was lucky to get BST from President Jokowi. This is because they do not need to queue to collect social assistance at a location.

"This is more efficient because if I have to visit, it's a bit difficult for me to take my brother. It's very difficult to walk, his eyes can't see. If you use a motorbike, it's also full of risks," said Harmudin.

Another resident who received BST from the central government was a housewife named Siti Mabruroh. Siti works as a seamstress every day. During PPKM, Siti admitted that her husband did not work.

Siti considers that the provision of assistance directly delivered to her home is quite effective. Because, he doesn't need to leave the house and is afraid of crowds.

"I thank you very much for this assistance from the president. Hopefully this will be very useful for my family. This is more effective, we don't need a crowd, so it's more prokes," said Siti.

It is known, the Government through the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs again distributed BST for the months of May and June which will be received in July 2021. The value given is IDR 300,000 per month. The recipient gets a 2-month quota, which is Rp. 600,000.

The total BST recipients throughout Indonesia are 10 million KPM which are recorded in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS). In addition to BST, the government also plans to accelerate the distribution of other assistance. These include the Family Hope Program (PKH) and Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT).

The acceleration of the distribution of social assistance is needed in the current emergency conditions for the implementation of the Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). Steps to reduce mobility and activities make it difficult for some parties to earn income.
