TANGERANG - A youth group calling itself #PeopleMemberi distributed assistance in the form of more than 100 portions of free meals to residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and PPKM in the Panongan and Cikupa sub-districts, Tangerang Regency, Banten.

"Alhamdulillah, we greet the affected residents again. Hopefully this assistance can be useful for those in need," said Joewanda, the initiator of "#PeopleMemberi" in Tangerang, quoted from Antara, Saturday, July 24.

The motivation for the distribution of free food aid is in order to ease the burden on residents affected by the pandemic and also a form of joint effort to fight against the COVID virus.

"Especially in the situation where PPKM Level 3-4 is still running. Of course, many non-formal workers are affected," he said.

This young man born in Bangka Belitung added that he and his friends were called to provide solutions by helping each other.

"It's time for the people to give the people. So we named this social solidarity action with the hashtag and the name #PeopleMemberi," he said.

Meanwhile, one of the volunteers "#RakyatMemberi" Zainal Abidin said the action was part of social solidarity in the midst of the corona virus storm which is now increasingly fierce.

"If there is more sustenance, we must share. It is not enough just to rely on the government. All must unite and work together," he said.

He said the free meal provided by his party was for 110 servings of boxed rice packages with a simple menu.

"The menu is white rice, fried chicken, tempeh, cucumber salad, balado round eggs, chili sauce and prawn crackers plus mineral water," he said.
