JAKARTA - The Indonesian National Army (TNI) is picking up the ball to pursue the target of 70 percent vaccination in the Jakarta area before August 17, 2021.

TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto conveyed the target while reviewing the implementation of vaccinations and distribution of social assistance (bansos) in the form of basic necessities to residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and PPKM Level IV in the Jakarta area.

When reviewing the implementation of the vaccination raids in three places in the Jakarta area, Air Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto was accompanied by the National Police Chief General Sigit Listyo Prabowo and the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lt. Gen. TNI Ganip Warsito.

The TNI Commander explained that the strategy implemented by the TNI and Polri was to see which areas had a low percentage of vaccines, to visit.

"Especially our target is the suburbs of Jakarta, where some of the residents are busy with activities or who are carrying out self-isolation for us to visit," said Marshal Hadi, quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 22.

Marshal Hadi hopes that the pick-up strategy in carrying out this vaccination can get the target as planned.

The TNI commander and his entourage also visited the 04/Gambir Koramil area and the Gambir Metro Police, continued to witness and communicate directly with the public who were administering the vaccine, assisted by health workers from the TNI and Polri.

Meanwhile, while distributing social assistance from the Government, the TNI Commander took the time to talk with Trisno, a resident in Sawah Besar, Jakarta who sells mobile instant noodles every day who is affected by the implementation of PPKM.

"I thank you very much for the assistance provided by the government," Trisno said to the TNI Commander.

The TNI Commander hopes that this social assistance from the Government can ease the burden on residents in supporting their families in the midst of the COVID-19 and PPKM pandemic.

Marshal Hadi invites all residents to always pray for the COVID-19 pandemic to end soon.

"To the community, in carrying out their daily activities, they must adhere to health protocols and are required to wear masks, wash their hands diligently and keep their distance," said this 1986 graduate of the Air Force Academy (AAU) with a message.

A total of 1,500 social assistance packages were distributed to community members, and 3,600 people per day were successfully vaccinated in three locations such as Sawah Besar, Gambir, and Tanah Abang sub-districts.
