Molotov Cocktail Bearer During Demonstration Against PPKM In Bandung Became A Suspect

BANDUNG - The Bandung Police Criminal Investigation Unit team named a young man with the initials H who carried a Molotov cocktail during a demonstration against PPKM in Bandung as a suspect.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Bandung Police, AKBP Adanan Mangopang, said that H was arrested along with five colleagues in the Cicendo area.

"After we searched the body, we found four bottles of Molotov cocktails along with one bottle of gasoline," said Mangopang at the Bandung Police Station, quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 22.

According to him, according to H's statement, the Molotov cocktails would indeed be brought during demonstrations at Bandung City Hall and Gedung Sate.

The police will re-investigate the case because the investigators already know the identity of the person who allegedly ordered H to carry the bomb.

"From the evidence from the chat of the cellphone in question, it has been prepared, it has been brought, someone ordered it to be brought during the demonstration," said Mangopang.

The suspect was charged with Article 187 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 53 of the Criminal Code concerning anyone who carries goods containing explosives that endanger property and life. "From that case, H faces a sentence of up to eight years in prison," said Mangopang.
