PSBB Transition Commuter Line Schedule: Number Of Departures To Operational Hours

JAKARTA - The commuter line schedule for tomorrow, Monday, June 8 has been adjusted. PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) added 151 travel schedules during the implementation of Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) during the transition period.

This is done to anticipate the buildup of passengers. VP of Corporate Communications of PT KCI, Anne Purba, said the addition had an effect on the operational time that would end one hour longer than before.

In the policy issued earlier or last June 5, the operational time has been increased, namely from 04.00-20.00 WIB. However, during the PSBB the transition became 04.00 to 21.00 WIB with 935 travel schedules.

"With extended operating hours, KRL trips also increased from 784 trips to 935 trips per day," said Anne in her statement, Sunday, June 7.

Adding a travel schedule is one way to overcome queues and congestion that will be difficult to avoid. With the implementation of PSBB regulations during the transition period, the activity patterns of KRL users are increasing, especially during busy hours, such as morning and evening.

"This addition is a solution to minimize the possibility of congestion on each series of trains," said Anne.

In addition, additions were also made to the side of the train series. Later, in one series there are 10 to 12 carriages that can carry passengers.

"KCI currently has 36 train series with 12 train formation, 41 train series with 10 train formation, and 35 train series with 8 train series. Every day 88 KRL series operate to serve the public," said Anne.

Confinement of passengers

Even though it has added travel schedules and carriages in a series, said Anne, her party will still follow government regulations by reducing 65 percent of train capacity. Of course, the reason is to maintain a safe distance for passengers so that there is no transmission or spread of COVID-19.

"To maintain the capacity and safe distance (physical distancing) on the train, users will be arranged through several isolation points before entering the platform to board the train," said Anne.

Then, a number of officers will also be alerted at the isolation points. In addition, a number of signs or markings will also be installed to make it easier for train users to understand the rules applied at all train stations.

"In a number of stations with the highest number of users, members of the TNI and Polri were also present to ensure that the queue was running orderly and according to the COVID-19 protocol. PT KCI has completed the isolation location at the station with queue markers," said Anne.
