Anies: Those Who Have Been Vaccinated Are Exposed To Very Few COVID-19, Only 0.3 Percent

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said people who had been vaccinated could still catch COVID-19. However, the chance of exposure to the virus is very small, below 1 percent.

She said this when giving directions to all representatives of Family Welfare Development (PKK) from the district/city level to the RT-RW.

"Those who have been vaccinated are our positive cases, very few. But only 0.3 percent," Anies said on the Presidential Secretariat's Youtube video, Monday, July 19.

Anies said that 0.3 percent of exposure occurred in people who had been vaccinated for the first dose. Meanwhile, transmission in people who have been vaccinated with the second dose is only 0.01 percent.

So, said Anies, vaccination is one way to increase immunity. Therefore, if the virus enters the body, its immunity has increased and can prevent it from being exposed.

"So, if vaccinated, God willing, they are more protected than those who are not vaccinated. Likewise when it comes to the death rate. Those who have been vaccinated are much safer than those who have not been vaccinated," explained Anies.

In addition, Anies said that the DKI Provincial Government has a target of 1,000 residents per kelurahan to receive vaccine injections per day. Therefore, she asked PKK women to socialize and invite local residents to undergo vaccination.

"We request that the mobilization team members gather a thousand people per kelurahan every day. If there are 10 RWs in one kelurahan, then each RW will send 100 people for vaccines every day. We will do that so that Jakarta's citizens are protected," said Anies. .
