Facilitation Of Passengers Not Complying With Emergency PPKM Rules, 36 AKAP Buses Take Action

JAKARTA - The Metro Jaya Regional Police took action against 36 Inter-City Inter-Provincial (AKAP) buses that violated the rules for the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). The violations they committed were leaving and boarding passengers not through the terminal during Emergency PPKM.

In fact, all passengers traveling during the Emergency PPKM must complete certain conditions. "There are 36 inter-city buses that have been successfully secured by a combination of friends from Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya and Land Transportation. The 36 vehicles are route violations," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Saturday, July 17.

By not going through the terminal, passengers can pass the inspection of the completeness of the antigen swab certificate, vaccines and so on.

Adding that the Director of Traffic of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said that dozens of buses were recorded to have taken passengers at three shadow terminals.

"This bus does not depart from the terminal, departs at the shadow terminal, such as Pondok Pinang, Rawa Bebek, Krendang and so on. So the passengers do not carry these provisions, do not carry vaccine cards, antigen swab letters and so on," said Sambodo.

For this violation, dozens of buses were ticketed under Article 308 of Law No. 22 of 2009 with a threat of a fine of IDR 500 thousand or imprisonment for 2 months. In fact, bus drivers will also be accused of using health protocols.

"We ticketed for traffic violations. Then he also violated not only traffic but also prokes violations," said Sambodo.
