Medan District Attorney Receives IDR 1 Billion Payment Of Fines For Adelin Lis Case

MEDAN - The Medan District Attorney (Kejari) has received a fine of Rp. 1 billion for corruption and forestry crimes from convict Adelin Lis.

The Head of Penkum at the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office, Sumanggar Siagian, received the fines and compensation in a corruption case that harmed the country's finances, at the Medan Kejari, Thursday, July 15.

Kendrik Ali, son of the convict Adelin Lis, received the handover of the fine and the replacement money and was received directly by the Head of Special Investigations Unit at the Medan Kejari, Agus Kelana Putra.

"The submission of the payment of the fine, namely Rp1 billion in cash and a certificate of Building Use Rights (HGB) Number 302, located on Jalan Hang Jebat, Madras Hulu Village covering an area of 769 M2 on behalf of the convict Adelin Lis," said Sumanggar, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 16.

Previously, based on the cassation decision submitted by the Public Prosecutor, Adelin Lis was found guilty on July 31, 2008 and sentenced to, among others, imprisonment for 10 years, a fine of Rp. 1 billion subsidiary six months in prison, compensation of Rp. 119.8 billion, and 2,938 .556.24 US dollars.

Adelin Lis was successfully repatriated from Singapore to Jakarta on Saturday, June 19, after being a fugitive for more than 10 years. Adelin Lis is a convict of corruption and forestry crimes.
