Indonesia Again Receives 3.4 Million Doses Of AstraZeneca Vaccine From Covax Facility

JAKARTA - The Indonesian government has again received 3.4 million doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine from the Covax Facility. Receipt of the vaccine was sent through multilateral channels.

"Indonesia has again received 3,476,400 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine through the multilateral Covax Facility", said Foreign Minister, Retno Marsudi, in an online press conference broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Tuesday, July 13.

She said the vaccine from the Covax Facility is the eighth stage that Indonesia has received. So, at this time, Indonesia has received 14,704,860 vaccines for COVID-19 for free from multilateral channels.

Foreign Minister Retno explained that currently, Indonesia has managed to secure hundreds of millions of COVID-19 vaccines. In addition to the vaccine that just arrived tonight, Indonesia received a COVID-19 vaccine of the Sinovac type on Monday, July 12 with 10,000,280 doses in the form of raw materials.

Not only that, today or Tuesday, July 13 this afternoon, Indonesia has also received 1,408,000 doses of the finished vaccine from Sinopharm.

"With the arrival of the vaccine, Indonesia has secured and received 137,611,540 doses of vaccine, both in raw materials and in finished vaccines", said Retno.

The COVID-19 vaccine, continued Retno, will be received by Indonesia again in the next few days. The vaccine was received through a multilateral channel, namely the Covax Facility.

"Indonesia will receive dose sharing through multilateral channels, the Covax Facility, namely the Moderna vaccine from the United States, which is the second shipment", said Retno.

In addition, Indonesia will receive the COVID-19 vaccine from the bilateral route, namely dose sharing from other countries such as Japan and the United Arab Emirates.

"Dose sharing bilateral routes from Japan which is also the second shipment and the United Arab Emirates which is also the second shipment", she concluded.
