Deputy Governor Hopes DKI COVID-19 Cases Drop On The Last Day Of Emergency PPKM July 20

JAKARTA - The implementation of Emergency PPKM in Java and Bali has been running for eleven days. DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria hopes that COVID-19 cases in the capital city will begin to decline on the last day of the Emergency PPKM implementation on 20 July.

"Until the 20th, hopefully we can meet the significant reduction target and in the following days we will get good results," said Deputy Governor Riza when met in the South Jakarta area, Tuesday, July 13.

Currently, COVID-19 cases in Jakarta have not shown any decline. However, Deputy Governor Riza said there had been a decline in the mobility or movement of residents.

Traffic volume is also reduced by more than 50 percent compared to the time of Micro PPKM.

Therefore, Riza hopes that the decrease in the rate of community mobility in the capital will reduce the rate of transmission of the corona virus.

"Alhamdulillah, there has been a good decline in activities. There has been a 50 percent decrease in mobility. Hopefully, all of the crowd interactions that descend will have a positive impact," said Riza.

As of today, 12,182 new positive cases have been added in the capital city. Thus, the total accumulated cases during the pandemic were 689,243 cases.

Of the total number of positive cases, a total of 589,486 people were declared cured with a cure rate of 85.5 percent, and a total of 9,541 people died with a death rate of 1.4 percent.

The number of active cases in Jakarta increased by 7,529 cases, so the number of active cases to date is 90,216 people who are still being treated or isolated.

The positivity rate or the percentage of positive cases in the last week in Jakarta was 43.0 percent, while the percentage of positive cases in total was 14.5 percent. Meanwhile, WHO sets a standard positivity rate of no more than 5 percent.
