JAKARTA - The police arrested a man with the initials AS who was involved in the murder of a masseuse who liked the same sex. The motive for the murder was that the victim tested positive for COVID-19.

"This perpetrator (USA), indeed the perpetrator has a sexual disorder. Entered in an application together with the victim," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Tuesday, July 13.

The killing began when the US ordered victim massage services at a rate of Rp. 300,000. They agreed to meet on the 26th floor of an apartment in the East Bekasi area.

"Then at that time the victim asked the perpetrator to massage, the victim was contacted to massage in his apartment room," said Yusri.

After the massage activity took place, it was revealed that the victim was exposed to COVID-19. Thus, the suspect was angry because he was not informed. The two of them got into a fight. In fact, they hit each other.

"While doing his work, it turned out that the perpetrator knew the victim was positive for COVID, so there was an intention not to continue the work. So a fight broke out and the perpetrator strangled the victim to death," said Yusri.

After the victim died, the perpetrator took the victim's valuables. For example, credit cards, cellphones, drones which are estimated to reach Rp. 30 million.

"If it is calculated up to Rp. 30 million which was drained from the victim's credit card. We are continuing to investigate, so this is just the story of the perpetrators, are there other motives," said Yusri.

Until finally, the case was revealed and AS was arrested after 4 days of being hunted for his whereabouts. For his actions the perpetrator was threatened with a prison sentence of 15 years in prison under Article 338 of the Criminal Code.
