DKI Ready To Distribute Cash Social Assistance To Residents, But Holds Wait For Central Government

JAKARTA - Head of Commission A of the DKI DPRD, Mujiyono, said that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is ready to distribute cash social assistance (BST) as a social safety net during the Emergency PPKM period.

This is based on the confirmation he received from the Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Financial Management Agency (BPKD), Edi Sumantri.

"It's been confirmed. Pak Edi said, today DKI is ready. The order for disbursement of funds is about to be signed to be transferred to the beneficiary's account from Bank DKI," said Mujiyono when contacted, Tuesday, July 13.

In the distribution, the BST distributed is the period of May and June. The DKI Provincial Government distributed funds through Bank DKI ATM cards to around 1 million beneficiary families.

This assistance will be channeled through Bank DKI in the amount of IDR 300 thousand per month. Based on the government's plan, the delivery of BST will be done all at once, so that residents immediately receive Rp600 thousand.

However, said Mujiyono, the DKI Provincial Government cannot directly distribute BST at this time. This is because DKI is still waiting for the readiness of the central government to also distribute BST to some DKI residents through PT Pos Indonesia.

"DKI is ready, but we are waiting for the central government because we must jointly distribute the distribution. The responsibility of the provincial government is 1.1 million people, this is for residents who receive aid in East Jakarta and the Thousand Islands. In other areas it is the responsibility of the central government. they are not ready yet," explained Mujiyono.

Previously, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini promised BST as a social safety net during Emergency PPKM no later than the second week of July. Therefore, he asked the people who will receive BST to use the money properly.

The BST that will be given is assistance per May and June. The amount of assistance provided is IDR 300 thousand per month. BST will be distributed two months at a time with a total of Rp600 thousand.

"Residents will receive Rp 600 thousand at a time, but I ask that it be not allowed and only to meet basic needs. So, hopefully it can be realized by the second week of this month and we try to distribute everything to the residents," said Risma.
