JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government has diverted a number of budgets (refocusing) in the APBD to provide cash social assistance (BST) for residents who receive it during the Emergency PPKM period.

This was confirmed by the Chairman of Commission A DPRD DKI Mujiyono. Mujiyono said, this budget transfer was carried out because the amount of money in DKI unexpected expenditure (BTT) was not sufficient to meet the needs of BST distribution.

Mujiyono said that a number of the budgets that were shifted were the renovation and rehabilitation program of the Social Service and Education Office buildings which were not so urgently carried out.

"There has been a refocusing of the budget for BST. One of them is from the refocusing of physical activities at the Social Service, such as the rehabilitation of orphanages, it has been dropped. Continue to rehabilitate schools, right now it's not a priority. Get a lot of figures, one of which is for BST Rp. 623 billion," said Mujiyono when contacted, Tuesday, July 13.

Based on the records of the Social Service, the total BST recipients from the DKI Provincial Government are currently 1,007,379 beneficiary families (KPM).

The DKI Provincial Government distributes BST to residents of East Jakarta and the Thousand Islands via Bank DKI ATMs. Meanwhile, other areas are distributed by PT POS and Bank Himbara from the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Mujiyono said that this assistance will be distributed through Bank DKI in the amount of Rp. 300 thousand per month. Based on the government's plan, the BST to be distributed is for the period of May and June. So, the delivery will be done at once.

"Because the central government asked for two months. So, later the distribution of Rp600 thousand at once," said Mujiyono.

Previously, Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini promised BST as a social safety net during Emergency PPKM no later than the second week of July. Therefore, he asked the people who will receive BST to use the money properly.

The BST that will be given is assistance per May and June. The amount of assistance provided is IDR 300 thousand per month. BST will be distributed two months at a time with a total of Rp600 thousand.

"Residents will receive Rp 600 thousand at a time, but I ask that it be not allowed and only to meet basic needs. So, hopefully it can be realized by the second week of this month and we try to distribute everything to the residents," said Risma.
