Debt Collectors Pretending To Be TNI Members Arrested In Tarakan Kaltara

TARAKAN - A fake Air Force member with the initials R (23) was arrested by POM Anang Busra Air Force Base, Tarakan, North Kalimantan.

"We are highlighting here, the person concerned with the initials R is abusing the TNI uniform, while the person concerned is a civilian, nor is the Paskas member who is 'stand by' BKO at Satrat 225," said Anang Busra Airbase Commander Colonel Pnb Somad in Tarakan, quoted by Antara, Monday, July 12.

After the arrest was made, R was immediately taken to Anang Busra Air Base and admitted to using the Indonesian Air Force uniform to carry out acts such as coercion and to collect debts from S who was the victim.

Somad explained that R was arrested at a nightclub (THM) on Jalan Sulawesi, Pamusian Village, Central Tarakan by POM Lanud Anang Busra on Sunday at 00.20 WITA.

"Victim S reported to us to conduct an investigation and from the information we received from various parties, it was stated that it was true that the person concerned had committed acts of coercion on S to pay his debts," said Somad.

According to him, the perpetrators who are now handed over to the Tarakan Police for further investigation must be dealt with firmly.

This is in accordance with the TNI Commander's Telegram Letter number STR/509/2006 dated August 1, 2006 regarding the Misuse of TNI Uniforms and Attributes.

From the results of the interrogation, it was known that R got the uniform and TNI attributes from online purchases. In addition, he has done the action three times in a month.

In 2018-2019, he wants to become a TNI AU soldier at the level of a non-commissioned officer. But for some reason, R did not qualify as an AU soldier.

Somad said that his party controlled the use of TNI uniforms and attributes that were used and utilized by the community, either individually or in groups as an anticipatory measure for activities that could harm the TNI agency.

"Controlling the inclusion of the TNI's name and logo, as well as a logo similar to the TNI on foundations, business entities, organizations that do not have permission from the TNI Commander," said Somad.

Then take firm action against the public individually or in groups who are not entitled to use TNI uniforms or attributes.
