Vaccinations In Balangan South Kalimantan Have Stopped Due To The COVID-19 Vaccine Running Out

JAKARTA - The implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination in Balangan Regency, South Kalimantan has stopped. This is because the vaccine stock runs out.

"Meanwhile, vaccination services at several health centers in Balangan have stopped because we have run out of vaccine stocks," said Head of the Balangan District Health Office, Erwan Mega Karya Latif in Paringin, as reported by Antara, Monday, July 12.

His party still does not know the schedule for the distribution of the next vaccine because it is still waiting from the provincial government.

It is said, since the start of the third stage of vaccination for the community, all Puskesmas in Balangan have been visited by local residents. However, since the end of the vaccine, the vaccination service has stopped.

The out of stock of this vaccine made the Balangan District Health Office submit a request for a new vaccine to the South Kalimantan Provincial Government.

From the information Erwan got, the South Kalimantan Provincial Government has received the vaccine. So in the district just waiting for distribution.

As for the vaccine recipients in Balangan, referring to the data submitted by the Balangan Health Office as of July 5, 2021, thousands of people have been vaccinated.

Overall, the COVID-19 vaccination rate in Balangan reached 3377 recipients at the first dose. While the second dose is 45 people, while the vaccine targets are the community and people who are vulnerable to being exposed to COVID-19.

Separately, the Regent of Balangan Abdul Hadi said, regarding the vaccines that have run out, it means that our health workers are working optimally without any remaining vaccines.

"Therefore, we are very grateful to the health workers, especially to the Balangan Health Office, because their performance is indeed extraordinary," he said.
