Even Though It Hasn't Been Paid Off Yet, Mukomuko Hospital Is In Debt Again To Get Oxygen

JAKARTA - The Regional General Hospital (RSUD) of Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu Province, was forced to owe the provider to get the oxygen needed by COVID-19 patients and patients with other diseases at this hospital.

"For the time being, the oxygen stock is still safe because the provider is still willing to give this hospital a debt first, even though the debt that was previously unpaid is now in debt again," said Head of Medical Services at the Mukomuko District Hospital, Harnovi, in Mukomuko, as reported by Antara, Monday, July 12.

The local hospital currently has a stock of oxygen needed by COVID-19 patients and other disease patients at this hospital as many as 57 tubes with a content of 6,000 liters per tube.

He said the Mukomuko Hospital provided dozens of oxygen stocks to anticipate the spike in COVID-19 cases in the local area. Especially COVID-19 patients who have severe symptoms and have to undergo treatment at this hospital.

In addition, he said that the local hospital prepared the Seruni Room for surgical treatment to become an isolation room for COVID-19 patients. This Seruni room has 18 beds.

"For now, the surgical treatment room has been moved to the ICU. We want to move the ICU to the Seruni Room because of the COVID-19 pandemic, so it hasn't been completed yet," he said.

Nevertheless, he said, the Seruni Room at the RSUD needed additional equipment, including human resources to provide health services to COVID-19 patients.

He said the local hospitals were adding rooms for COVID-19 patients to follow up on the mandate and circulars from the Ministry of Health so that the hospitals add 50 percent of the capacity of the rooms for treating COVID-19 patients in hospitals.

"Currently we have a COVID-19 patient care room with a capacity of 13 beds, so we have to add 50 percent of the existing capacity or as many as seven to 10 beds," said Harnovi.
