The Village Head In Banyuwangi Holds A Celebration At The Village Office When Emergency PPKM Will Be Legally Processed

BANYUWANGI - The Regent of Banyuwangi, East Java, Ipuk Fiestiandani rebuked the head of the village of Temuguruh, Sempu District, with the initials AS, who held a celebration during Emergency PPKM.

"Yesterday, we have strongly warned the village head, including the Camat. We have reprimanded him. We will hand over the sanctions to the APH (law enforcement officers)," said Ipuk at the Banyuwangi COVID-19 Task Force office.

"While we are all trying to reduce the potential of the crowd, actually all of us must also understand this," added Ipuk.

Ipuk said the celebration was held by the Head of Temuguruh Village a day after the revision of the Minister of Home Affairs' Instruction regarding the prohibition of celebrations during Emergency PPKM.

Previously, the Minister of Home Affairs Instruction 15/2021 still allowed a reception to be attended by a maximum of 30 people during Emergency PPKM.

However, the regulation was later revised according to the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs 19/2021 in which marriage celebrations are not allowed.

"Friends, you must realize that if you have a celebration, one day before the event, the preparation must be done," said Ipuk.

Regent Ipuk said this case became a concern amid the outbreak of COVID-19 cases. Moreover, the reception was held at the local village office.

Regarding this case, the police investigated the wedding ceremony at the Temuguruh Village office, Sempu District, Banyuwangi.

This investigation is to determine whether there is a criminal element or not in the celebration event.

"We will see first, the implementation on the 10th. However, we will conduct an investigation. We will collect the information," said Banyuwangi Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Nasrun Pasaribu.
