Deceive Many People, Conspiracy Of Oxygen Selling Mods Arrested

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya arrested three conspirators with the mode of selling oxygen cylinders on social media. In fact, they do not have oxygen cylinders at all and just take advantage of the situation.

"There are 3 suspects who took advantage of this moment to seek profit by offering oxygen cylinders through social media, but no money was transferred to the goods," said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Friday, July 9.

This fraudulent act had gone viral in cyberspace. The three perpetrators used the Instagram account @umina_collection99 to offer oxygen cylinders for Rp. 750 thousand.

"Three ATKG suspects aka AW are the owners of the IG account @umina_collection99 who offer 750,000 oxygen cylinders, the second SA alias A is the account owner, the third AS alias S provides a holding account. They are a gang," Yusri continued.

Based on the results of the examination and reports received, the victims of this group from South Sulawesi are quite a lot. The losses suffered by the victims reached millions of rupiah.

"There were quite a lot of victims, there were a lot of people on social media, but only two reported. One in North Jakarta, one tube has been transferred but the goods have not been sent. Second, in Central Jakarta, 9 tubes have been transferred. There are still many perpetrators and victims- another victim," said Yusri.

Therefore, Yusri asked the public to immediately report if they find or become victims of fraud related to drugs and medical devices. The public can report by contacting the call center.

"Please, those who feel cheated by this account, please come to the Polda Metro Jaya to report to us or contact our PMJ Ditkrimsus call center or hotline [phone] or 110 Polri," said Yusri.

The fraudulent gang was charged with multiple articles. In that case, investigators used Article 28 paragraph 1 of the 2019 Law Amendment to the 2011 Law on ITE and 378 of the Criminal Code, Article 8 paragraph 1, Article 45 a paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
