Dozens Of Culinary Businesses In Bekasi Sealed Due To Violation Of Emergency PPKM

CIKARANG - Dozens of business places were sealed by the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 in Bekasi Regency, West Java, for almost a week of emergency PPKM.

"So far, we have recorded more than 20 culinary businesses, from restaurant stalls to restaurants we have temporarily closed," said Head of Bekasi Regency PP Dodo Hendra Rosika in Cikarang, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 9.

Dodo said that dozens of culinary businesses were closed because they violated emergency PPKM provisions, such as not providing health protocol facilities, crossing operational limits, and providing dine-in services or eating on the spot.

In addition to culinary businesses, he said, eight commercial establishments were also sealed for violating similar provisions, including clothing stores, cell phone outlets, and accessories stores.

Until almost a week after implementing emergency PPKM in Bekasi Regency, officers have also closed the operations of six non-essential and critical companies that are desperate to operate.

"We closed and sealed them. They were all proven to have violated the provisions of the emergency PPKM when officers carried out surveillance operations," he said.

Meanwhile, the Bekasi Metro Police Chief, Kombes Hendra Gunawan, said that the sealing of business premises during surveillance operations was an implementation of the enforcement of emergency PPKM regulations in accordance with the instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs and the Bekasi Regent.

"We, together with the Bekasi Regency Forkopimda, Polsek, Koramil, and Sub-districts will continue to carry out emergency PPKM enforcement operations," he said.

Operations to block residents' mobility are still being carried out at designated points, including four toll gates towards Jakarta, namely Grand Wisata Tambun, Delta Mas, West Cikarang and Cibatu toll gates.

Then there are two regional border points, namely Kedungwaringin which borders Karawang Regency and Jalan Sultan Hasanuddin Tambun Selatan which borders Bekasi City.

"We also apply restrictions on the mobility of residents in settlements and housing that are categorized as vulnerable areas. We carry out routine monitoring of companies including taking action against companies that violate. Thank God the mobility of residents has now decreased," he said.

Hendra appealed to the public to stay at home except for urgent needs. Residents are asked to comply with the 5M health protocol, namely wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, avoiding crowds, and reducing mobility.
