Red-Orange Zone Of Worship Closed, Minister Of Religion Yaqut Cholil: Let's Make Our Homes Heaven

JAKARTA - Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas asked religious people to temporarily carry out their activities at home, including in worship. This is because houses of worship in the Emergency PPKM zone and the Red and Orange Zones are temporarily closed.

The Ministry of Religion has also eliminated activities that have the potential to cause crowds as COVID-19 cases soar to minimize the potential for transmission.

“The daily number of positive COVID-19 cases is still increasing. In the meantime, let's reduce mobility, be patient and stay at home. Meanwhile, we carry out worship at home," said Minister of Religion Yaqut in Jakarta, Friday, July 9.

For Muslims, continued the Minister of Religion, during the implementation of the Emergency PPKM, administrators of mosques or prayer rooms located in the Emergency PPKM Zone, as well as the Red and Orange Zones outside the PPKM, can still sound the call to prayer as a marker of prayer time. The same thing can be done by the administrators of other houses of worship.

"Only, community worship activities in the Emergency PPKM Zone, as well as the Red and Orange Zones outside the Emergency PPKM will continue to be carried out in their respective homes," said the Minister of Religion.

According to the Minister of Religion, limiting mobility out of the house is part of a joint effort to break the chain of spread of COVID-19. "Let's work from home and worship from home," said the Minister of Religion.

The Minister of Religion also invited the public to take advantage of this Emergency PPKM momentum to strengthen religiosity by worshiping with the nuclear family at home.

"Let's make our homes a paradise, a comfortable place to share our feelings as well as become an effective mental education medium for a generation of quality and character," he said.

"Come, from our respective homes, we pray and ask God Almighty with all our hearts, hopefully this pandemic will end soon and life will return to normal. Amen," said Minister of Religion Yaqut.
