Jakarta Mayor Seals One Office In Kelapa Gading Violators Of Emergency PPKM

JAKARTA - The Mayor of North Jakarta (Jakut) closed a non-essential company in Kelapa Gading for violating the rules for the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), Wednesday.

"We will close one non-essential company until the Emergency PPKM period is over," said North Jakarta Mayor Ali Maulana Hakim, during a sudden inspection (sidak) with North Jakarta Metro Police, North Jakarta Kodim 0502 and North Jakarta District Attorney at the Kelapa Gading office area. , Wednesday, July 7th.

Ali said the inspection was carried out based on complaints from the public. The North Jakarta City Government together with the North Jakarta Kejari, North Jakarta Metro Police, and North Jakarta Kodim 0502 then sent a monitoring team to the field targeting 26 points in the office area.

"There are 26 companies that we monitor for compliance during the Emergency PPKM period," he said, quoted by Antara.

The first visit, an essential banking company is considered to have implemented the rules well because it applies the rule of 50 percent of employees working from home (Work from Home / WFH).

The mayor also appealed to the company to carry out health protocols properly.

However, on the next visit, one non-essential company was found to have violated the Emergency PPKM rules.

In the office owned by the company engaged in the paint manufacturing industry, it was found that more than 25 percent of employees still work in the office (Work from Office/WFO), while the rule is that they have to work 100 percent at home.

The company was also ordered to close the office until the Emergency PPKM period ended, or closed until July 20, 2021.

In order for the instructions to be followed, the North Jakarta City Government hopes for cooperation from all parties to monitor the office every day to support and assist the implementation of the Emergency PPKM regulations.

The office was also asked not to force its employees to come back to work so that all employees can fight the COVID-19 pandemic together by continuing to work from home.

"Our community asks us to participate in monitoring and providing information if violations are found. We will give the same thing to companies that are still stubborn. We invite the community, company owners to collaborate together to fight the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Sub-Department for Manpower, Transmigration and Energy, North Jakarta Administration, Gatot S Widagdo, said that complaints of violations in offices or companies have continued to increase since the Emergency PPKM was implemented.

"Every day there are usually only 10 complaints, but since Emergency PPKM has increased to 33 complaints. We promise to take strict action against any violations committed, both administrative sanctions in the form of closures to the heaviest criminal sanctions. 19 is adhered to," he said.
