Airlangga: 75 Percent Of Beds At Wisma Atlet Kemayoran Are Filled

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPCPEN) Airlangga Hartarto said the bed occupancy rate (BOR) at the COVID-19 Emergency Hospital (RSDC) Wisma Atlet Kemayoran Jakarta reached 75 percent or 5,904.

"The Athlete's Guesthouse currently uses 75 percent and around 1,990 of the remaining beds or 25 percent of the total 7,894 beds are used 5,904," Airlangga said in an online press conference broadcast on BNPB's YouTube, Wednesday, July 7.

Even so, Airlangga said the government had prepared additional beds to accommodate COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms. There are at least two locations that are currently being prepared, namely the Nagrak Flats and the Grass Market Flats.

"The government has prepared both in the Nagrak Flats and in the Grass Market Flats," he said.

For information, 5,921 patients who were confirmed positive for the corona virus (COVID-19) are still being treated at the Kemayoran Athlete Wisma Emergency Hospital.

"Patients have decreased by 332 people," said the head of Information for the Joint Defense Region I Command, Marine Colonel Aris Mudian, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, July 6.

Aris explained that the number of patients under treatment on Monday, July 5 was 6,253 people. Those who have recovered have returned to their respective homes.

The COVID-19 patients were treated in towers 4, 5, 6 and 7. The patients were treated with mild symptoms. The capacity of the Kemayoran Athlete Hospital is able to accommodate 7,937 patients. So, currently there are 2,016 empty beds.

As previously reported, the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has again increased the number of beds for COVID-19 patients in DKI Jakarta after the recent spike in cases. There are 900 isolation beds to treat COVID-19 patients which are currently being built at Wisma Haji Pasar Rebo, Jakarta.

It is hoped that this bed can be used in the next two days. Not only that, the Ministry of Health also added 50 intensive care unit (ICU) beds at the location in collaboration with the Ministry of SOEs.

"In collaboration with BNPB in DKI, we will build 900 beds to treat COVID-19 patients at Wisma Haji in Pasar Rebo. Hopefully it can be sorted out in the next two days. We can open 900 beds plus there are 50 ICU beds cooperate with the Ministry of SOEs," said Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin in an online press conference broadcast on the Preisden Secretariat's YouTube account, Tuesday, July 6.

Meanwhile, for self-isolation, there are an additional 7,000 beds ready to accommodate COVID-19 patients. This is expected to be able to help the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran Hospital, Jakarta to take care of COVID-19 patients.

"We have doubled the ability of Wisma Atlet by providing an additional 7,000 isolation places in the Nagrag Flats and Pasar Rumput Flats. So that (patients, ed) we can accommodate them to enter a centralized isolation bed or enter a hospital bed," he said.

"So there were 7,000 centralized isolation, while there were 950 additional hospital beds," added the Minister of Health.
