JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan reported a polemic of differences of opinion regarding which companies were included in the essential and critical sectors to Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.

This happened when Anies conducted an impromptu inspection (sidak) at the PT Equity Life Indonesia office and imposed a temporary closure for violating the Emergency PPKM rules.

However, recently Equity Life claims that the company engaged in the insurance sector has entered the essential sector. So, it is allowed to set work from office (WFO).

Therefore, in a coordination meeting with Luhut today, Anies concluded that there would be an update on the criteria for essential and critical sectors. The DKI Provincial Government will announce in detail which companies are in the essential and critical categories.

"Later, we will announce it through the website, through a press release through the Communications and Information Service which shows the details of the coordination meeting just now. Because of this, there are several updates related to essential and critical sectors," said Anies when met in the Lampiri area, East Jakarta, Wednesday, July 7.

If it has been announced, Anies asks all company owners or leaders to the public to match whether the company is in the essential category or not.

"If you don't come in, don't force the employees to work. If you come in, there are provisions, which ones are allowed to be 100 percent, some even have a maximum of 10 percent. So, company leaders must match the list and follow the provisions," said Anies.

Anies asked employees who work in non-essential sector companies but still have to come to the office during Emergency PPKM to report this violation through the JAKI application.

"Once it is reported, we will send officers to take action. What is the action? First, it is temporarily closed. If it repeats, it can be closed during the Emergency PPKM period. If it happens again, the business license can be revoked," he explained.
