Ex-Prabowo Voters In The 2019 Presidential Election Haven't Moved On, Confidence In The COVID Vaccine Is Low

JAKARTA - The National Survey Media (Median) conducted a poll on social media regarding netizens' perceptions of the handling of COVID-19. There is an interesting phenomenon related to public trust in vaccination with the choice of the 2019 presidential election.

Where, the level of confidence of former Prabowo supporters in vaccines is lower than Jokowi's voters.

"Former voters Mr. Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin who believed in the vaccine was a huge 62.2 percent, but once it entered the former voters of Pak Prabowo, the level of trust immediately dropped so that the figure was only 35.7 percent. So the drop was half," said the Director. Median Executive Rico Marbun in his presentation on the survey through a webinar, Wednesday, July 7th.

Likewise, said Rico, the desire of former Prabowo-Sandiaga Uno supporters to get a vaccine is very small, only 48 percent compared to Jokowi-Maruf Amin voters of 67 percent.

"Former Prabowo voters who don't want to be vaccinated are 32 percent bigger than Jokowi-Maruf supporters, only 17.1 percent who don't want to be vaccinated," Rico explained.

"So this is a problem that may later need to be helped by colleagues in the DPR, colleagues from political parties. Before health and economic problems, there is a problem of perception of political division," he continued.

The survey was conducted with a Non Probability Sampling design. The google form-based questionnaire distributed through Facebook social media targets active Facebook users aged 17-60 years.

Questions are distributed proportionally to the population and spread on Facebook accounts in 34 Provinces. The results were collected as many as 1,089 respondents spread across 32 provinces.
