DKI Asks TNI-Polri To Manage Isolation Places At JIExpo Kemayoran, Not Civilians

JAKARTA - The government is preparing the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran or Jakarta Fair (PRJ) arena to be a place to treat COVID-19 patients.

Head of the DKI Health Office, Widyastuti, asked the central government to place the ranks of the TNI and Polri to manage the isolation location if it is operational, not from civilian officers. Because, the capacity is quite large.

"The JIExpo's capacity can be up to 20 thousand, this is not a small amount. We hope that JIExpo with a large capacity does require non-civilian control, maybe the TNI-Polri can control it because it is a large number," Widyastuti said in a virtual discussion, Tuesday , July 6th.

Widyastuti explained that law enforcement officers are better able to manage isolation locations with large capacities. This can be seen from the management of the COVID-19 Emergency Hospital Wisma Atlet Kemayoran and Pademangan.

"We learn from Wisma Athletes. Control that is not from civilians, controlling the community to comply with the SOP is something important in such a large capacity," he said.

For information, DKI currently has around 13,000 isolation beds and a special ICU for COVID-19 in referral hospitals with 93 percent and 94 percent occupancy, respectively.

In addition to hospitals, DKI also provides centralized isolation places at the Kemayoran and Pademangan Athletes Hospital, Graha Wisata Ragunan, Hasyim Asyari Mosque Hall, and the Nagrak Cilincing Flat.

Then, isolation locations are also being prepared at the Pasar Rumput Flats (Rusun), Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, Daan Mogot Flats, and Pulogebang Flats.
