GARUT - The Garut COVID-19 Handling Task Force (Satgas) has imposed a fine of Rp. 3 million for beauty clinic business actors because they were proven to have violated the Emergency Community Activity Restriction (PPKM) in Garut Regency, West Java.
The fine was decided directly by the Garut District Court (PN) through an emergency trial against seven PPKM violators in Simpang Lima, Garut Regency, Tuesday, July 6.
"The fine of Rp. 3 million is a beauty clinic business that violates opening hours in the COVID-19 emergency isolation area and PPKM," said Head of the Garut District Attorney's Office, Sugeng Hariadi, after attending a trial for PPKM violators.
Sugeng Hariadi said that the business actor who received the fine was for violating the operational hours during the emergency PPKM in the local area. The results of direct inspections in the field, beauty clinics are still serving.
Whereas according to the PPKM regulations, Emergency cannot operate because it is not an essential business activity or a basic need of the community.
"For the clinical lab, it should be closed because he is non-essential but he is still open and serving," he said.
He conveyed that the Garut COVID-19 Task Force took firm action against violators in the implementation of the emergency PPKM to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak in Garut.
The results of the prosecution during the PPKM period, he said, there were seven places that violated, namely four cafes, a barbershop, bookstore, and beauty clinic in urban Garut.
"There are seven businesses that violate, and today we have tried them in collaboration with the Garut District Court in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP)," he said.
Sugeng Hariadi said that the violators received sanctions in the form of fines ranging from Rp. 150,000 to Rp. 3 million according to the size of the type of business and the violation.
"That's the judge's consideration, so we respect what the judge said before the open trial, so the consideration may be from the business side," he said.
Garut Regent Rudy Gunawan, who was present at the partition operation and trial against PPKM violators, said that the Garut COVID-19 Task Force did not play around in handling and preventing the COVID-19 outbreak in Garut.
The concrete action taken by the COVID-19 Task Force, said the Regent, was to process the law and then bring the PPKM violators to trial so that it became a warning to others.
"Yes, this is law enforcement, we are not playing games, because we are already in a state of emergency," said the Regent.
