JAKARTA - After vaccinating for seniors, then adults over 18 years old, now the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is targeting teenagers. Residents aged 12 years and over can participate in vaccinations in more than 300 vaccine centers as a measure to control the transmission of COVID-19.

"Please visit the vaccine centers that have been prepared there. Don't forget to vote, invite vaccination as one of our efforts to prevent the spread," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office Widyastuti in Lenteng Agung, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 6.

According to him, the vaccination centers are spread across a number of sub-districts and villages by cooperating with the TNI and Polri in the implementation of vaccinations.

He explained that vaccination was one of the efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19, in addition to implementing health protocols.

Especially now that a new variant of COVID-19 is developing and is spreading faster with a more severe impact, vaccination is expected to be one of the efforts to suppress disease transmission from the SARS CoV-2 virus.

"We invite residents to obey in this Emergency PPKM, because if we open it, let's DKI residents show that we are capable of being disciplined," added Widyastuti.

He noted that the daily cases of COVID-19 in Jakarta had increased in recent days and lastly on Monday (5/7) it had reached 92,000 cases.

For this reason, he added, efforts and cooperation from all parties are needed to control the transmission of COVID-19.

Currently, the government is implementing Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) on the islands of Java and Bali on July 3-20 2021 to control the transmission of COVID-19.

One of the things done in the Emergency PPKM is to limit the mobility of the community because of the great potential for transmitting COVID-19. In total there are 72 points of restriction on community mobility in the Emergency PPKM in the Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jadetabek) areas.

For those of you and those of you who have teenage children, please get ready for vaccinations from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. It is hoped that through this program efforts to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 can be carried out.
