DKI Pemprov Is Asked To Be Careful To Issue An Educational Calendar During The COVID-19 Festival

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the Education Office issued a Circular Number 467 of 2020. The letter contains the determination of the 2020/2021 school year education calendar for PAUD, SD, MI, SDLB, SMP, MTs, SMPLB, SMA, MA, SMALB , SMK, and MAK.

The government must compile the education calendar. However, Deputy Chairperson of DKI DPRD Muhammad Taufik assessed that the Provincial Government must be careful in reopening schools when the COVID-19 outbreak is still spreading.

Taufik said, the Education Office should not reopen all schools simultaneously. They must consider the number of corona virus transmission at each school location.

"The provincial government should not be in a hurry. They have to look at the level of exposure in the school environment, what kind of impact of transmission to children. Maybe only areas where the number of COVID-19 cases have started to be opened are a few," said Taufik when contacted, Thursday, 28 May.

In addition, the DKI Education Office must also ensure that all schools implement the COVID-19 prevention protocol. This is because school-age children are still difficult to understand to always wear a mask, wash their hands with soap, and maintain a safe distance.

"Maybe it could also be able to arrange classrooms, for example, those that were filled with 25 students, so 10. Because, if a child gets COVID-19 it is difficult to treat it. He can't feel the symptoms yet. So, I think you have to pay close attention, don't be. in a hurry, "explained Taufik.

Fill in the DKI education calendar for the 2020/2021 school year

Quoting a circular issued by the DKI Education Office, on July 13, 2020 all students began studying at school again. July 13 to 15, the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) for New Students (PDB) is scheduled.

In the circular, there are 36 study activities and school holidays for one school year. This school year ends on July 20, 2021, which is a school holiday because it commemorates Eid al-Adha 1442 Hijriah.
